- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened for frosting
- 2 cups (226g) powdered sugar for frosting
- ¼ teaspoon salt for frosting
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream for frosting

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper or foil and spray with cooking spray.
- In a stand mixer, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and flour until smooth. Stir in patriotic sprinkles.
- Press cookie dough evenly into the prepared dish and bake for 20–28 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- For frosting, whip softened butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream until fluffy.
- Frost cooled cookie bars generously and top with more sprinkles as desired. Cut into squares to serve.
