Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to package instructions for the cake mix. Prepare the cake batter as directed and bake in a 9×13-inch pan. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the warm cake.
  3. Slowly pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce evenly atop the soaked cake.
  5. In a saucepan, melt butter, then stir in shredded coconut and chopped pecans until warmed through. Spread this mixture evenly over the cake.
  6. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 2–3 minutes before stirring until smooth to create ganache.
  7. Spread ganache over the coconut-pecan layer on top of the cake and optionally sprinkle with extra pecans and chocolate chips.
  8. Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
