- 250g Kunafa dough
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 180g Gulab Jamun mix
- 150g fresh cream
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups water
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 5 cardamom pods
- 1 tsp saffron
- Pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water to create the syrup. Bring to a boil until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and add lemon juice, cardamom, and saffron. Reserve some syrup for later.
- Prepare Gulab Jamun dough as per package instructions and shape into small balls.
- Deep fry the balls until golden brown and soak them in sugar syrup for at least 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C and grease a cupcake pan with non-stick spray.
- Coat kunafa dough strips with melted butter and twist them into nests in the cupcake molds.
- Bake nests for about 12-15 minutes until crisp and golden.
- Assemble by layering fresh cream, Gulab Jamuns, and drizzling with reserved syrup. Garnish with pistachios before serving.
