  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can (28 oz) peeled, whole tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon red apple vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook chopped turkey bacon until crispy (about 10 minutes). Add butter and let it melt before adding fresh herbs and minced garlic; stir for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add sliced carrots and diced onion; cook until softened (approximately 10 minutes).
  3. Stir in tomato paste for 2-3 minutes until it darkens. Mix in flour.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and add canned tomatoes; smash tomatoes gently with a wooden spoon. Stir in red apple vinegar and bring to a boil.
