- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 14 oz pizza sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/4 cup Italian cheese blend
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage substitute, eggs, salt, pepper, onion powder, and Parmesan cheese; mix until just combined without overmixing.
- Form the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over high heat; sear meatballs until browned on all sides but not fully cooked.
- In the same pan, add tomato paste and cook briefly before stirring in pizza sauce and Italian cheese blend.
- Return meatballs to the sauce; top generously with mozzarella cheese.
- Transfer everything to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
