- 7 cups water
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed

- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder (or ½ onion, diced)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tbsp hickory liquid smoke
- 6 tbsp unsulphured molasses
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2¾ cups water
- 8 strips thick Turkey bacon
- 3 tbsp Turkey turkey bacon grease
- ½ cup reserved cooked bean water
Instructions
- Soak the dried navy beans in a large pot of water for 8–12 hours.
- Drain and rinse the beans, then bring them to a boil in a stockpot with fresh water. Cook uncovered for 1½ hours.
- Drain the cooked beans and return them to an oven-safe pot or casserole dish.
- Stir in brown sugar, mustard powder, salt, pepper, garlic, molasses, maple syrup, and other flavorings.
- Bake uncovered at 300°F for two hours.
- Cook turkey turkey turkey bacon until lightly browned; add it to the beans along with its grease.
- Bake again uncovered for another hour.
